Professor Reid offers courses 和 tutorials on a wide range of topics in French 和 francophone literature: from the Renaissance through the 19 century, as well as contemporary drama 和 francophone writing from Québec, the Caribbean 和 Africa; most of her seminars are cross-listed in 性别研究 or eligible for GS credit. In addition, she teaches courses at all levels of French language 和 tutorials on translation. She as a core member of the 性别研究 Program 和 currently director of the GSP (she was the program’s first director from 2006-2012), she also offers tutorials on women’s writing 和 feminist theory. She has served on the executive board of the American Council for 魁北克研究 (from 2009-2021), elected vice president (2010-2011) 和 president (2012-13), 和 served as Associate Editor for Book Reviews of the journal 魁北克研究 (2018-2021).

The focus of her research is on translation. She has worked extensively with authors from Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Congo-RDC, 和 Haiti. She has two translations forthcoming in 2022: 螃蟹的踪迹 歌曲(最为, 2022), the final volume of 帕特里斯Nganang’s trilogy about Cameroonian independence, 后 愉快的山  (FSG, 2016) 当李子成熟的时候 (FSG, 2019); 和 这个失策 (Amazon Crossing, 2022), a translation of Mutt-Lon’s 巴菲亚大街700号. Previous translations include: Nganang’s 三伏天;大热天 (UVA / CARAF, 2006), Queen Pokou: Concerto for a Sacrifice (Ayebia Clarke, 2010)和 远离我的父 (UVA/CARAF, 2014), both by Véronique Tadjo, as well as essays 和 short stories. Her publications also include articles on: French Naturalism, in particular works by J.-K. Huysmans 和 the Goncourts; on the Québécoise authors Anne Hébert, Marie-Celie Agnant, 和 Kim Thúy; 和 on recent fiction from Africa by 帕特里斯Nganang 和 Véronique Tadjo.
